  Watermark Course Evaluations & Surveys (formerly EvaluationKit)

Watermark Course Evaluations & Surveys (formerly EvaluationKit) is Xavier's course evaluation software.  You can add up to 3 custom questions to your own surveys, view your evaluation results in Canvas, provide results as department administrators, change your evaluation dates, and more.


General Information for Faculty & Department Admins

  1. Department surveys that were used prior to Fall 2019 were replaced with Xavier's standard question set.  Click on the links below to view the standard questions.
    • Click here Download Click here to view the 8 standard questions that all courses automatically receive each semester.
      (composed of 6 Likert-scale, and 2 open-ended questions)
    • Download Click here to view the 1 optional Likert-scale question that you can choose to have on your department surveys. (send an email to evals@xavier.edu if you would like this question to be included)
  2. Department admins must login to the survey portal with their departmental login at xavier.evaluationkit.com Links to an external site.
  3. Instructors and students can access their evaluations through Canvas by navigating to the survey portal area here: https://canvas.xavier.edu/users/me/external_tools/14832 
  4. When inside the survey portal, you can click on the white question mark button at the top-right hand corner of the page to view all of the Help Center articles and videos.

Admin & Instructor Guides

  1. Faculty members can change their evaluation dates themselves through Canvas.  To change the evaluation dates, first login to Canvas and go to the survey portal here: https://canvas.xavier.edu/users/me/external_tools/14832
    Then, click on the Manage Courses button at the top of the portal in the instructor view.  From there, click the spyglass icon on the far-right next of the current semester project to view the courses taught for the semester.
    The evaluation start and end dates can then be changed from there by clicking the pencil icon on the far-right beside any course.  (under the “Edit” column) Simply enter the new dates in the box that appears and click the save button to update them.
